We collect personal data when you submit one of our interest registration or subscription forms. The data we collect includes:

  • Email address
  • Sport or discipline you compete in
  • Instagram handle
  • Website address (optional)
  • Whether you are an athlete, sponsor or event organiser
  • Sponsor brand names or event names (optional)
  • We also collect anonymous technical data through Google Analytics (see Section 5 — Cookies).

3. Why we collect it and our lawful basis
We collect and process your data for the following purposes:

  • To manage athlete and sponsor selection (Phase One): We process your submission to assess whether FakInk is a fit for your needs. Lawful basis: Legitimate interests.
  • To notify you of Phase Two launch: If you subscribe for Phase Two updates, we will contact you when Phase Two opens. Lawful basis: Consent.
  • To respond to your enquiry: We may contact you directly by email using the address you provide. Lawful basis: Legitimate interests.

4. How we store and protect your data
Form submissions are delivered securely to our private email inbox and are not stored on third-party marketing platforms at this stage. We take reasonable technical steps to protect your data, including SSL encryption on this website and Wordfence security on our WordPress installation.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. How long we keep your data
We will retain your data for as long as it is relevant to our selection process and business operations. If you ask us to delete your data at any time, we will do so promptly.

As a UK resident you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
